* Daido MORIYAMA "Tono Monogatari - Tales of Tono" 1978 Photobook

Availability: Out of stock

Daido MORIYAMA, photographer. "Tono Monogatari" - "Tono Story." Tokyo: Asahi Sonorama, 1976, First Edition, PB, dj, 15 cm x 10 cm, 176 pp, 122 b/w & 7 color reproductions, Japanese text.

"This important Moriyama book features work from northern Honshu, Japan - the same series that was the subject of his very first solo show in 1974. While the non-narrative diptychs, shot in the more rural reaches of Japan, display a nascent nostalgia, their formal qualities - rough, grainy, out-of-focus - are much the same as Moriyama brought to more urban subject matter. It was published after his 1974 exhibition at Tokyo's Ginza Nikon Salon. The Tales of Tono is Moriyama's sixth book."--Photo-eye.
