Hiromi TSUCHIDA, photographer. "Sonorama Shashin Sensho 22: Hiroshima 1945-1979." Akira Hasegawa, essay. Tokyo: Asahi Sonorama, 1979, First Edition, HB, dj, 21 cm x 22 cm, 120 pp, b/w photos, text in Japanese and English.

“Hiromi Tsuchida presents an incredibly moving memorial to the atomic bomb blast of 1945. Not unlike Shomei Tomatsu, Tsuchida also photographed the victims' possessions left after the bomb. The book is a follow-up of sorts to a 1951 book "Children of the Atomic Blast", in which 186 school children and college students wrote essays reflecting on their experiences. Along with reporter Ryuichiro Fukiage, Tsuchida located, interviewed and photographed as many of these now-grown people as they could find and who were willing to participate. The images that do not show people represent those who were not willing to participate or who had already passed away. A vital document of Japan's post-war experience.”--Photo-eye.
