Jacques BOURBOULON "AMC Artman Club Galphy Series" 1987 Photobook

Availability: Out of stock

Jacques BOURBOULON, photographer. “NGS VIP Members Club Galphy Series: Jacques Bourboulon” Japan: Nippon Geijutsu Shuppan, 1987, First Edition, HB, Slipcase, 30 x 22 cm, 60 single-side color plates.

NGS Artman Club publications were available by subscription only - not in bookstores - this allowed them to circumvent Japanese censorship standards. The private publications of the Artman Club had a penchant for models and settings similar to those of David Hamilton and Jacques Bourboulon with sun-drenched Mediterranean settings and limbs-akimbo poses. Artman Club published three Bourboulon books in the "Galphy" series with the deluxe golden-brown slipcases. The first volume was in 1982, a second volume "Part 2" followed in 1983. This volume was the last of the three, published in 1987. Curiously, it was not called "Part 3" as were Siwer Ohlsson's and Jean-Pierre Bourgeois' third Galphy photobooks. So, long story short, this photobook looks exactly like the earlier 1982 photobook on the outside but is entirely different inside with a completely new set of photos. This volume is the scarcest of the three.

Condition: Excellent, with slipcase.
