Here is a rare item - the official presentation portfolio for the winners of the Seventh Annual Higashikawa Prizes in Photography. The Higashikawa Prize has been awarded to photographers in four categories since 1985 by the town of Higashikawa, Hokkaido. The four prizes are: Overseas Photographer Prize, Domestic Photographer Prize, New Photographer Prize and Special Prize.

Inside the portfolio case are four folders with prints of the photographers plus the additional informational pages. Contents: Jan Saudek - 6 prints; Nobuyoshi Araki - 5 prints; Takako Minoda - 3 prints; Genichiro Kakegawa - 4 prints. Famous images from Saudek and Araki (including 3 images from the week of his wife Yoko's death). Genichiro Kakegawa was a native of Hokkaido whose photographs document the life of the Ainu people in post-war Japan. This portfolio was not sold (it is marked "not for sale" inside) but only presented to members of the Higashikawa Prize Association.
