"Kuchu Shashin Sakuryo" 1942 Photobook Rare Japan WWII Aerial 3D Photography w/ Glasses

Availability: Out of stock

"Kuchu Shashin Sakuryo" - "Aerial Photography Measurement." Japan: Kagaku Shugi Kogyo sha, 1942, First Edition, HB, (no dj as issued), 26 x 19 cm, 152 pp, b/w & 3D photos, Japanese text.

Rare World War II photo book from Japan devoted to aerial topographical photography. Includes photos of the airplanes, the men who flew them - the specialized photo equipment and the engineers who designed them - and (the only Japanese War photobook that I've seen like this) special 3D topography photos, including a set of primitive 3D glasses. All books with photos of WWII fighting machines and soldiers were destroyed, if found, during the years of the American Occupation after the war. That this book survived intact with the glasses is a rarity.

Condition: Quite good for a book of this era. Binding is reasonably sturdy, no loose pages, hardly any of the typical age/humidity spots that might be expected. Includes the original 3D glasses that were included with the book.

Shipping costs: Checkout settings are for International airmail "small packet" (available for packages up to 2 kg), delivery estimated at 5-8 days - $15.00.
