Okura's Emma was awarded the Japan Photograph Association's annual prize. One of three photobooks from the important "Private" series - the other two are Hajime Sawatari's “Nadia” and Yoshihiro Tatsuki's Mariko Kaga monograph.

"In the series, the photographers, through some close connection between photographer and subject, created images in an attempt to reveal something private. The nudes were not only a study but the by-product of an apparent intimate connection between photographer and model. This was a switch from the "nude" to the "naked"."--Kaneko & Vartanian, Japanese Photobooks of the 1960s and 70s

Condition: Overall Good, maybe even better for this book. Various light handling signs, usual toning on the endpages, spine and interior are good.
